Ironically enough one or more of the Crew Memmbers actually attended a speech by Al Haynes about using the throttles when losing Hydraulics.
The JAL pilots tried to do that but it just didn’t work for them. Part of the reason it worked for 232 may be because Dennis Fitch was inspired by the JAL123 crash to practice controlling a DC10 with engine thrust in a simulator.

this reminds me of flight JAL 123. i think they should of tooken the same procedure as the JAL 123 pilots did.
